North Carolina Lottery Vendors

March 30th, 2006  |  Published in Mapping, State Data  |  2 Comments

Jim Morrill and Adam Bell of the Charlotte Observer used state data to show that “more than 5,000 lottery retailers are spread throughout every county in the state. But lower-income people are more than twice as likely as wealthier residents to live near one.” North Carolina’s lottery begins today. The paper published a map pinpointing the locations of lottery vendors.

    Hi Derek,

Here’s a link to another North Carolina lottery map (I put it together for the Winston-Salem Journal): http://lotterymap.journalnow.net/?*blog . Its major difference is its UI … you can display lottery vendors by county, city or zip code.

I am trying to locate a list of business who have opted not to sell lottery tickets. If you know of such a list, would you please contact me. Thank you!
