Lori Montgomery and Elissa Silverman of the Washington Post, with an assist from your host, used local campaign finance data to find that the front-runners in D.C.’s mayoral race have very different fundraising strategies. “Much of [Linda] Cropp’s money has come from downtown developers, former government officials and other members of the city’s political establishment, while more of [Adrian] Fenty’s cash comes from small businesses and his Ward 4 constituents, many of them people writing their first checks in a local election.” The Post’s Nate Kelso mapped the contributions.
