California’s Electoral Bellwether

Hank Shaw of the Stockton Record used voting results data since 2000 to find that “no city in the San Joaquin Valley has the pulse of California like Lathrop … Of the 56 state ballot questions or top-ticket elections that have appeared over the past six years, Lathropians have voted with the rest of California 53 times: That’s a 95 percent average.” Demographically, the city is a “mini-California,” with multiple ethnicities among its 14,600 residents.
