NICAR 08 Presentations

Here’s the PDF of the presentation used for the panel that Chase Davis of the Houston Chronicle and I did on programming for journalists. Chase, Matt Waite and I also did a panel on open source software for CAR. Here’s the handout.

    Ryan and I were entertained to see “name = ‘bob’” under the heading “Semi-Advanced Concepts”.

    And we have a newfound respect for the people who make it their mission to train new programmers. Hope your panel went well. God, I hope.

    Heh. In the first draft, it was labeled “Advanced,” so that should give you a good indication. I think it went well, though.
